Professor Carlos Chocarro joins the University Museum as Academic and Public Programs Director

Carlos Chocarro, professor at the School of Architecture, joins the Museo Universidad de Navarra team as Academic and Public Programs Director. Among his main functions are the scientific coordination of the Museum's own research and that generated with other centers of the University; the design of public educational activities, undergraduate and postgraduate; and the scientific direction of publications.

Carlos Chocarro holds a degree in Philosophy and Letters (Geography and History) and a PhD in Art History from the University of Navarra. His research work has focused on topics such as artistic training in the field of academies and professional artists' workshops, the origins of Spanish art historiography, as well as the debate on the integration of the arts in architecture in the twentieth century.

He is currently principal investigator of a project of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (2011-2013)"The discourse of Modernity" and participates in a project with the Faculty of Fine Arts of Madrid and the Reina Sofia Museum on"Art and education in the era of academic capitalism". She has research stays at the Biblioteca Hertziana in Rome; at the Università IUAV di Venezia, in whose doctoral school she directed a seminar on"Baroque and modernity, crossroads of art and historiography" in December 2011; and at the French National Library in Paris, with funding from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science.
