Literature and dance: beasts and other emotions

Friday, November 12, 2021, 19h.
Classroom 2

Free admission
Invitations must be reserved

Session dedicated to Jesús Carmona.

The third day of the cycle "Pensamiento en danza" will revolve around the work "Baile de bestias" by Jesús Carmona.

In this last session, Luis Galván Moreno (professor of Theory of Literature at the University of Navarra) will talk with Ibis Albizu on the subject of bestiary and emotions in literature and dance with the aim of shedding light on the aesthetic keys of the latest work of choreographer Jesús Carmona.

The aesthetic keys of avant-garde flamenco, which have earned him the Benois de la Danse award, serve as the basis for a conference on the communication between different artistic forms as a device for expressing emotions, as well as the role of art in expressing the ugly, the grotesque or negative emotions beyond the canon of classical beauty.

Sound bodies:
On artificial intelligence and movement

Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 19h.
Classroom 2

Free admission
Pre-reserve your invitation and pick it up at the box office up to half an hour before the event.

Muriel Romero and Pablo Palacio, from Instituto Stocos, and Ibis Albizu, coordinator of Pensamiento en Danza, will talk about the work 'The hidden resonances of the moving bodies II' by Instituto Stocos in which artificial intelligence crosses the relationship between the body and sound.

The conference will focus on the role of artificial intelligence in dance, where the expanded body becomes an object that transits between art and science. The collaboration of art and technology allows movement to become sound, thus closing a circle in which everything is connected.
