University of Navarra Symphony Orchestra Concert
On the verge of a year since its presentation in April 2018, the Orquesta Sinfónica Universidad de Navarra once again takes a big step in its third program combining two master pages of the Spanish and Russian repertoire, such as Manuel de Falla's Amor Brujo and Dmitri Shostakovich's Suite for Variety Orchestra. In this way we try to offer an ambitious stylistic and expressive counterpoint between the two masters, separated by barely a quarter of a century and located at opposite ends of Europe.
With this repertoire we wanted to include less common instruments in symphonic ensembles, such as a saxophone quartet, accordion, guitar and piano 4 hands. Thus, the group continues its work to expand the experience of music within the University through its young performers.
For this program the orchestra has counted with its usual teachers, Juan Mira, José Lozano and Santiago Blanco, the recently incorporated Diego Arbizu and the collaborations of André Cebrián, David Pulido and Cecilia Berkovich.
