Program Notes

Playwrights, musicians and writers of all times have written about the myth of Don Juan. In its multiple faces and mirrors emerges the face of a ruffian gallant, a cautious adventurer, a loyal traitor, an honest liar, a romantic bandit... All the masks of society concentrated in the same dramatic character. From the everyday to the metaphysical, from the conscious to the subconscious, the Don Juan will share a night of unfulfilled promises, romances and confessions; that of Tirso who inhabits in El Burlador de Sevilla and Convidado de Piedra with honor and dishonor, the Tenorio by José Zorrillathe romantic hero of love and repentance, dominated by the conquest of sentiment over reason, and Molière's Don Juan of Molièrewith his ingenuity to achieve the maximum theatricalization of love from cynicism and hypocrisy, all of them will invite us to participate in the collective ritual of the theater to spend a night between heaven and hell, mystery and beauty of the word.
