Introduction to Egyptian hieroglyphs
with Olga Navarro

Dates: From 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on October 4, 5, 25 and 26 and November 15, 16, 22 and 23.
General fee: 65€.
University of Navarra students: 30€.

A theoretical-practical workshop in eight sessions to introduce us to the basics and grammar of Middle (Classical) Egyptian and the correct writing of hieroglyphs.

Reading, writing, transliteration and translation of sentences, as well as the recognition of hieroglyphs in Egyptian artwork, are the practical exercises that will lead the participant to understand and delve into the language of Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Central Library of the University of Navarra

The application of ICT in education. She began her first steps in Egyptian grammar and hieroglyphic writing in 1998 and later took courses in hieratic and neo-Egyptian with Dr. Maria Luz Mangado, and at the University of Murcia.

She has taught courses for both adults and students of third cycle of primary school in various institutions and has participated in numerous international congresses on Egyptology and ancient history. She has participated in several temporary exhibitions of Egyptian art and has also participated in the layout of their catalogs. 

She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Anelier Cultural Association, coordinator of the History of Egyptology Section of Amigos de la Egiptología, collaborates in the Archaeological Project of Cabeza Ladrero (Sofuentes, Zaragoza) and writes articles for specialized magazines on archaeology and Egyptology, in addition to working as a room assistant at the MUN.
