Gesto is an interactive installation for two dancers and children. Movement, light, sound, music and visual art are combined in a dynamic environment.

The dancers guide and encourage the audience to enter a world where their movements generate and transform the visual and sound landscape around them. Each step and gesture acts as a catalyst, provoking visual distortions on the projection floor and triggering random sound compositions, making each interaction unique and unrepeatable.

This new project of the company Taiat Dansa is the result of a collaborative work between its directors and choreographers, Meritxell Barberá and Inma García, together with the Italian designer and digital and interactive artist Anna Guglietti, the musician David Barberá and the dancers Yéssica Castellón and Boris Orihuela.

MERITXELL BARBERA & INMA GARCÍA
Graduated in Classical and Contemporary Dance in the city of Valencia, they founded their own company, Taiat Dansa, in 2003. Since then they have presented their creations in different spaces of reference and festivals throughout the national and international territory. They also participate as guest choreographers for other companies.

Both artists approach dance within the parameters of art and reflect on its history and evolution, different from the rest of the arts. In most of their works they approach dance by altering its structures and techniques, in search of distortion and renovation. This exploration is always done with attention to the immediate present, in constant dialogue with the ideological, social and cultural context that surrounds art.

CELIA SANDOYA

Celia Sandoya is a dancer born in Madrid and based in Valencia. Trained at the Carmen Amaya Conservatory (Madrid), she has worked in companies such as the Ballet de Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana, IT Dansa (Barcelona) and Ballet Theatre Basel (Switzerland), with which she has toured many European countries performing pieces by Sharon Eyal, Ohad Naharin, Jirí Kylián, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui or Akram Khan among others. She currently works as a freelance, combining performance with choreographic assistance in different projects. She is currently a regular dancer with the company Taiat Dansa.

NATALIA GARCIA

Graduated from the Professional Dance Conservatory of Valencia. In 2014 she joined the Cannes Jeune Ballet in France. In 2016 she joins the young company IT DANSA in Barcelona under the artistic direction of Catherine Allard where she danced for choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Akram Khan, Alexander Ekman and Jirï Kylian, among others. In 2018 she joined the company Hessisches Staatsballett under the direction of Tim Plegge and BrunoHeynderickx in Germany, where she participated in the director's creations and also danced for choreographers such as Sharon Eyal, Eduard Clug and Sita Ostheimer, among others. In 2022 she moved back to Spain and started her professional career as an actress, dubbing actress and freelance dancer.
