5 MAY / 19:00H
Classroom 2

The term "ancestor" refers both to the ancestor of an individual or group and to the traits of that individual or group that are still present in their offspring.
In his project The Edge Álvaro Laiz has traveled the Americas, from the Bering Sea to Tierra del Fuego, getting to know communities and cultural traditions and exploring the presence of his most remote ancestors: the first settlers of the continent, 20,000 years ago.
In conversation with Laiz himself and Javier Novo, professor of genetics and expert in human evolution, we will discuss the relationship between genetic heritage and cultural heritage, and how to work with it in an art project.
