MUN Theatre

A multimedia instrumental theater piece for a female solo voice, 8 amplified monochords, and electronics.

Eight percussionists play near the walls of the room, forming a circle. In the center, a singer performs inside a “cage” with video projections on all four walls, surrounded by the audience, which forms various circles. The singer’s voice is amplified and transformed using various digital effects.

Frames Percussion

FRAMES Percussion, an ensemble dedicated to the repertoire of new works, embodies the talent and commitment to the music of our time. Composed of a new generation of percussionists from our country, the group was founded with the aim of presenting the most unique and innovative works—including the most demanding pieces in the contemporary repertoire—with the utmost preparation and respect for new compositional languages.

Originally associated with Juventudes Musicales de Cataluña and the ESMUC, the group maintains a close relationship with L'Auditori in Barcelona. In addition, it has spearheaded the creation of the OUT·SIDE series and has participated in the Mixtur Festival, the Juan March Foundation, FiraTàrrega, MUTEK Barcelona, the GREC Festival, and the CNDM, among others.

In the field of the performing arts, FRAMES Percussion is responsible for the composition and performance of the music for Joan Català’s 5,100 (m/s) and Albert Quesada’s Desert. In addition, the group has also created the educational show Out of the [CAGE], commissioned by L’Auditori’s Educational Service.

FRAMES' repertoire includes iconic works from the percussion ensemble repertoire and premieres by composers such as Luis Codera Puzo, Núria Giménez-Comas, Sirah Martínez, Alberto Bernal, Cathy van Eck, Ruud Roelofsen, Montserrat Lladó, and Helena Cánovas, among others.

In 2022, he released his first album, a recording of David Lang’s *The So-Called Laws of Nature* on the Neu Records label, as well as Elena Rykova’s *Silenced* on the Phonos Netlabel.

FRAMES Percussion has been awarded the Ernst von Siemens Ensemble Prize '24.
