SIKKA INGENTIUM

Sikka Ingentium is a sculptural installation composed of 2,400 DVDs containing films from all over the world: not only Hollywood, but also other very powerful industries such as Hong Kong, India (Bollywood) or Nigeria (Nollywood), as well as others that are numerically less important. With this material, Canogar creates an enormous installation, which forms a sort of floating cloud that shows the reflective face of the DVDs. From the other side of the room, the contents of the DVDs themselves are projected, thus becoming a screen that receives the information they store. The result is an installation formed by waste materials, which upon receiving the projection are activated and become a surface of moving colors and shapes that expand around the room in the form of reflections. A sensory experience that is completed with a sound composition, made by Alexander MacSween in collaboration with the artistam, based on fragments of the band of the films themselves and marks the rhythm of the projection.
