Can a painting be my friend?
Opening: February 11, 2026
Space: Tower Room
Curators: Teresa Barrio and Fernando Echarri
Generating questions is one of the tasks of art. Art has had this power since childhood. For example, a girl asked this question at the MUN: "Can a painting be my friend?" As Jorge Wagensberg said: after visiting an exhibition, we are likely to leave with more questions than we had when we arrived. Perhaps art can help generate a more complex and deeper understanding of the world.
This exhibition offers a overview of the work Museo Universidad de Navarra by the Education Department of Museo Universidad de Navarra since its inception in 2015. A museum is, above all, an educational agent: a place where knowledge is shared and transformed for the benefit of individuals and the community. The exhibition will show how it has fostered personal development through various educational programs aimed at all types of audiences—schools, social organizations, the university community, families, the general public, etc.
Our educational hallmarks are some of the contents shown: interdisciplinary education, the development of learning to think skills, the promotion of creativity and divergent thinking... as well as education in values such as peace, diversity, and equality.
The exhibition Can a Painting Be My Friend? invites visitors to enjoy some of the key works in the MUN Collection, learn about some of the collaborative projects with different audiences, and take part in creative activities that will result in works being included in the exhibition itself.
