Curator: Ignacio Miguéliz
Space: Room 0
Room 0 of the Museum has been transformed into a space for the permanent display of the Museum’s photography collection, one of the most important in our country.
The MUN's photography collection spans the history of the medium from its inception to the present day, featuring works by leading national and international photographers who worked in Spain during the 19th and 20th centuries.
The central theme of this collection revolves around the construction of the image and how, through it, we understand the world, others, and ourselves.
Through the works presented on this occasion, we can not only take a technical, thematic, and stylistic journey through the history of photography, but they also allow us to reflect on concepts such as reality and how to depict it, the potential of the image in a changing world, and the viewer’s perspective and critical ability to analyze information in a world saturated with images—a world in which new technologies and artificial intelligence challenge the viewer by generating new realities.
