The Orquesta Sinfónica Universidad de Navarra starts its 5th season with its traditional autumn concert. For this program, the orchestra held a competition among its members to select one of them, who would perform as soloist with the rest of his colleagues. Following the success of the competition, and with the aim of giving as many opportunities as possible, three soloists were selected: Martín Olmedo, Lucía Mena and Amaya Arboniés.
Olmedo will present the first movement of the Concerto for Bassoon in F M op. 75, an essential work for the instrument together with the famous concerto by W. A. Mozart. Mena will play the first movement of the Concerto for Harp in BbM HWV 294 which, although originally written for this instrument, became part of the cycle of concertos for organ op. 4, being No. 6.
The third soloist and until last season concertmaster of the group, Arboniés, will perform the Romanza for violin in F M op. 11, a work in a single movement.
Each season, the group prepares a program of increasing difficulty to share with the public in a concert open to all audiences. An opportunity to enjoy live symphonic music.
