Nou Ensemble. Technics
Nou Ensemble presents with Technics a reflection on the concepts of technique and technology applied to the musical creation of our decade to offer a concert between sound installation and musical theater.
General admission: 12 and 8€.
THE CONCERT
Technics is the result of a reflection on the concepts of technique and technology and their application in musical composition. In the case of music, technique is understood as the rules on how to play an instrument, in its physical and intellectual variants.
In Technics the members of Nou Ensemble must develop a new tekné, in the senses of skill development and adaptation to reality: this is the case for example of the work Todos Caníbales [trio; 2016] by Fran MM Cabeza de Vaca in which the performers from a dramatic sense surround different instruments (cello, bass clarinet and electric guitar) performing them simultaneously thereby producing new sound relationships.
On the other hand, Technics presents the use of technology as a result of the practical application of technique in various ways: either from the electronic transformation of the sound of a traditional instrument -the violin in the work of Simon Steen-Andersen-, the inclusion and foregrounding of non-sound elements -the light in the work of Íñigo Giner-, the video as a main part of the musical discourse -Screen Sketch IV by Oscar Escudero- the use of everyday electronic objects such as the neon tubes requested by Simon Loeffler in his piece b or the conversion of metronomes into musical instruments as in the work of Jose Pablo Polo, where the learning of the "instrumental" technique is simultaneous to the composition-performance process.
