Trisha Brown Dance Company. In Plain Site

PERFORMANCES IN THE MUSEUM'S EXHIBITION SPACES

After touring the United States, Trisha Brown Dance Company (TBDC) premieres in Spain the Early Works repertoire at the Museo Universidad de Navarra. The prolific choreographer, artistic director, painter and dancer born in Washington 77 years ago is one of the great references in postmodern dance. Her research into physical movement in the 1960s challenged existing perceptions of performance and her work has revolutionized contemporary dance, changing it forever. His work has been recognized and awarded worldwide and is currently present in the programs of important cultural institutions in New York, Paris, London and other theaters around the world.

IN PLAIN SITE

In Plain Site, TBDC's new performance model, was born out of a desire to free the movements created by Brown in the 60s and 70s from the constraints of a conventional stage to be presented again in more unexpected places. Unlike his previous performances, which were also created for specific spaces, In Plain Site draws material from his vast repertoire and re-combines it to create a program that accommodates the spatial needs of the performance site.

This is a very special opportunity to observe the creative process from a new perspective and enjoy a program created specifically for the exhibition corridors of the Museo Universidad de Navarra. TBDC's intention is to create an intimate dialogue with the audience, the space chosen for the performance and its architectural features, as well as to provide a new multi-generational lens through which to look at Trisha Brown's vast legacy.

Price: 18€.

In "Trisha Brown: In Plain Site" the audience experiences Brown's work from a fresh perspective with programs curated to spaces.

Phrase material Brown used in her creative process, along with the Early Works and Equipment Pieces, is reframed and released from the proscenium, creating an intimate relationship with the audience. These assembled site specific programs provide a new lens to look at Brown's vast span of work demystifying the complexity through special dialogue and audience intimacy.

The partnership of the Presenter, our Associate Artistic Directors, the Dancers, and the Audiences become a collective team empowering and expanding the multi-generational response to the timeless rigor of Brown's legacy.
