Exhibition rooms
This series seeks to present the MUN's collection through the eyes of personalities from our immediate geographical environment.
In this session, historian and Egyptologist Olga Navarro Cía will talk about the engravings containing reliefs of tombs and temples from the Napoleonic albums of the occupation of Egypt in 1798, which can be seen in the rooms of La Description de l'Égypte in the exhibition A Promised Land: From the Age of Enlightenment to the Birth of Photography; and how the photographers who subsequently went to Egypt recorded the same images but this time with their cameras.
Biography
Olga Navarro has a degree in History, a diploma in Artistic Studies, has completed doctoral and DEA courses at the National University of Distance Education and has defended her doctoral thesis entitled Egyptian treasures of the Matthews-Beyens family: genesis and development of a collection.
