José Ramón Encinar (Madrid, 1964), winner of the Premio Nacional de la Música, has been chief conductor of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, of the Orquesta Sinfónica Portuguesa and currently of the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid, where he is also artistic director. In addition to conducting Spanish orchestras, he has conducted some of the most representative orchestras on the international scene, such as the London Symphony, the Orquesta Filarmónica de México, English Bach Festival, Santa Cecilia de Roma and the Arturo Toscani Orchestra of Parma. He has also directed the recovery of unusual works of the orchestral repertoire, such as La Clementina by Luiggi Boccherini and Los amantes de Teruel by Tomás Bretón, as well as a large number of world premieres, including three operas by Luis de Pablo. In his extensive recording career, he has worked with different labels, such as Naxos, Stradivarius and Decca. He has received important distinctions, both in conducting and composition, such as the Ícaro and Larios prizes and awards for Polyphonic Composition and Chamber Music Composition. He has also been awarded the Prize of the Association of Composers of Madrid and the Music Prize of the Community of Madrid.

Plural Ensemble is an ensemble specialized in 20th and 21st century music, founded by Fabián Panisello. It develops an annual season of concerts and tours, alternating the most demanding soloist repertoire with works for ensemble. Throughout his career he has performed to great critical and public acclaim at major international specialized festivals such as New Music Week in Shanghai, Sound Ways in St. Petersburg, Musica in Strasbourg, Atempo in Caracas, Présences in Paris, Ars Musica in Brussels, Manca in Nice, Spaziomusica in Cagliari, Aspekte in Salzburg, IFCP Mannes in New York, the Alicante Music Festival, the San Sebastian Music Fortnight, the WDR cycle in Cologne, Nous Sons at the Auditori in Barcelona, the Warsaw Autumn Festival, Ultraschall, Konzerthaus in Berlin and Klangspuren Schwaz in Tyrol, among others. He collaborates with artists such as Peter Eötvös, Salome Kammer, Hilary Summers and Pablo Márquez and has made numerous recordings for various European radio stations as well as recordings. |
