THE HIDDEN RESONANCES OF THE MOVING BODIES II

The Hidden Resonances of Moving Bodies II is the second part of a series of works that pit dancers against contemporary classical musicians on stage, with the aim of exploring the common principles underlying the creation of dance and music.

The piece is a collaboration between Instituto Stocos and Neopercusión, the renowned group of solo percussionists of the Orquesta Nacional de España.

The result of this process is a work that proposes an original relationship between both disciplines, focusing on the important role of experience and body awareness both in the field of movement arts and instrumental performance. This relationship between body and sound is exploited thanks to a specific technology that combines motion capture techniques with artificial intelligence models, which enables the transformation of the dancers' body movement into sound, and allows the percussionists to expand their technique beyond the physical relationship with their instruments.
