Xº After Cage International Festival of Musical Experimentation
Lluïsa Espigolé, the great piano soloist specialized in contemporary repertoire, performs a double program with works by composers Juan José Eslava and Helmut Lachenmann.
De cerca - expansion by Juan José Eslava, is the world premiere of a work that approaches the piano as a musical instrument but also as a physical and symbolic object.
The piece is composed from the hybridization of different languages. In addition to the purely instrumental language of the piano, there are also acting, performative, installation and textual languages.
The result is a work developed in complete complicity with the performer, an encounter between body and piano, resonance and song. It involves the development of a new poetics that explores the boundaries between genres usually well defined (written music, performance, dramaturgy).
The program closes with the Serynade by Helmut Lachenmann, who has described his works as instrumental concrete music (after Pierre Schaeffer's Musique Concrète).
