Bending the walls + Beyond

Lava Compañía de Danza, under the artistic direction of Daniel Abreu (National Dance Award 2014) presents two choreographic works with a common nexus: search and inquiry. Bending the Walls is an exploration into the world of restrictions and limitations in our search for happiness, freedom and understanding. Beyond is an experience of searching through emotional landscapes of memory.

BENDING THE WALLS

Through this choreographic work, the physical and psychological limits within ourselves and the world around us are explored. It is a metaphor for the psychological, physical and emotional forces that humans can address to transcend palpable reality, overcome affliction and escape into a world of imagination.
