The MUN presents this catalog featuring essays by Rafael Levenfeld and Valentín Vallhonrat, curators of the exhibition A Promised Land. From the Age of Enlightenment to the Birth of Photography, as well as Joan Fontcuberta, Manolo Laguillo, Rafael Llano and Ignacio Miguéliz, who, in line with the exhibition discourse, study the existence and appearance of the photographic phenomenon and its impact on the development and evolution of the image in society until the mid-19th century.
The catalog includes a selection of the nearly 900 images shown in the three sections into which the exhibition is divided: Albums of drawings and engravings from the mid-18th to the mid-19th century; The Description of Egypt (1809-1823) and The Birth of Photography in the Orient.
