This meeting with filmmaker Paco Arango will allow the audience to learn about the motivations and challenges in audiovisual production for charitable purposes. The filmmaker will also present his latest experience as director of "Mi Otro Jon", the film that will soon be released in theaters.

Film Synopsis:

Merche (Carmen Maura) learns that she has very little time left to live. Determined to make her last wish come true, she takes her three best friends on some pranks unworthy of her age: getting stuck at night in El Corte Inglés and even hiring a stripper. Among her wishes is also to be able to see the sea for the last time. For this reason she invites her daughter Rocío (Olivia Molina) to visit the island of La Palma, but at the last minute Merche's health prevents her from making the trip.

After giving up, they receive the surprising news that an eccentric scientist has managed to transmute the soul of an elderly person into the corpse of a recently deceased for three days to fulfill any dream. In this way, Merche's soul will be introduced into the only available corpse: a big 58-year-old Basque truck driver (Fernando Albizu) to start a crazy adventure. Meanwhile, Merche's body will remain plugged in and well cared for to be reintroduced upon her return from La Palma.

DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY:

Paco ArangoPaco Arango was born in Mexico into a family of Spanish origin. When he was still very young his family moved back to Spain, although he was educated in the United States and studied cinematography in Boston and Los Angeles. Before beginning his film career, he recorded and released five albums as a solo singer under the Sony Records label. In 1999 he founded "Calcon Producciones", production company with which he made the successful and funny series "¡Ala...dina!" as well as "El Inquilino".

In 2001 he felt the need to get involved in a cause of solidarity "to repay the luck he had had" and began to volunteer at the Niño Jesús Hospital to visit children suffering from cancer. That changed his life forever and what began as a weekly visit became his main occupation.

Paco gave up everything and, after four years volunteering every day, he created the Aladina Foundation at the end of 2005 with the purpose of improving the lives of children and adolescents suffering from cancer and their families.

Since 2011, Paco combines his work at the head of Aladina with his profession as a filmmaker in a very special way: all the money generated by his films is donated to the fight against childhood cancer, both nationally and internationally.

"Maktub" (2011), "Lo Que De Verdad Importa"(2017; #1 on Netflix USA in July 2020) and "Los Rodríguez y el Más Allá" (2019) are the three solidarity films he has written, directed and produced so far. In October 2023 he will release his fourth film, a comedy starring Carmen Maura, Olivia Molina, Carlos Santos, Fernando Albizu and Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, among others. Like all his films, it will also be 100% for charity.
