SIGMA Project proposes a musical program that brings us closer to some of the main authors who participated in the Encuentros de Pamplona in 1972, taking them further. Before the concert, at 6:00 pm there will be a meeting in which the keys of the concert will be shared.

The public shares the stage with the pictorial action of César Barrio and the pieces of a concert that brings to mind the compositions and the spirit that animated that artistic event in the summer of 1972: multidisciplinarity, the renewal of musical languages and the work of contemporary creation based on traditional or patrimonial elements, artistic keys shared by the MUN.

Four5 (1991) by J. Cage will be accompanied on stage by the pictorial action, the percussion of Manu Gaigne and the sound recordings of the Artze brothers' txalaparta. Xas (1987) by Xenakis will let us enjoy its difficult metrics and virtuosity. Luis de Pablo will be present with the score of his last public premiere, LdP ( 2021). Along with these musicians present at the '72 Encounters, other current heirs of his artistic keys complete the proposal.

SIGMA Project

"If I had to sum up in two words the personality of the SIGMA Project quartet I would not hesitate: originality and perfection. It is a pleasure, a joy to share music with them: they communicate it, they make it live". Luis de Pablo

SIGMA Project is the sum of the talents of Andrés Gomis, Ángel Soria, Alberto Chaves and Josetxo Silguero. This saxophone quartet has become an essential vehicle for the instrumental music of the 21st century. Their collaborations with Luis de Pablo have been constant and exciting. Since its founding in 2018, SIGMA Project has performed more than 200 concerts in auditoriums and festivals halfway around the world. Their marked modularity ranges from the homogeneity of the formation of four equal instruments to the maximum instrumental diversity. They develop multidisciplinary work with other arts; video, dance, literature, theater or painting are naturally integrated into their concerts, also rescuing music from the past.

They are capable of generating new grammars in a true sound laboratory, which has led them to work with renowned composers such as Alberto Posada or José María Sánchez Verdú, but also to perform more than 50 world premieres of dozens of European and Latin American composers.

This dynamic of research and investigation crystallized in several recordings with different labels.
