CreAcción. Iratxe Ansa & Igor Bacovich is the sixth volume of the Cuadernos de Creación collection. Since its origins, the aim of this collection has been to show the process of creation of the choreographic works that originate in the artistic residencies of the Museo Universidad de Navarra (MUN). This record of the creative process and its narration through the voice of a third party, Leonardo Santos on this occasion, is intended to be the cartography of an ephemeral work, a cartography that extends over time and leaves a trace through this publication so that others can follow it and ask questions, discover paths and leave room for astonishment.
All of the choreographic works prior to this one were anchored to the MUN collection through various formulas, the most common being that a work from the collection had served as inspiration for the choreographic work. Most of them were conceived and premiered in the Museum's exhibition halls, dialoguing with the visual works that populate them, combining with the MUN's architecture and with the dynamic movement of the public.
However, for the first time, a choreographic work, CreAcción, is anchored to the people of the Campus of the University of Navarra and the city of Pamplona, giving body to one of the defining features of these residencies: the linking of the artistic community with the university community and by extension with the community, without adjectives.
Its starting point was a virtuous confluence of interests between the artists and the institution, who opted to involve a group of people from outside the world of dance as participants in the whole process of creating the work from zero. Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich undertook the project with the courage, generosity and honesty that characterizes them, accompanied and supported at all times by the MUN team. The findings were very valuable and the testimonies collected in this notebook testify that this can be a path.
The publication is on sale at Trama Editorial and specialized bookstores.
