Can a single gesture encapsulate centuries of history? Can a body dance in multiple time frames at once? Jesús Carmona offers a dance experience that springs from within to be experienced from the outside.
TENTATIVO (based on real landscapes) is Jesús Carmona’s new artistic endeavor, a project in which the artist returns to conceptual exploration and the transformative power of flamenco. On this occasion, Carmona joins forces with stage director Luis Luque, whose career is characterized by a keen focus on poetic structure, thought, and the relationship between form and meaning. Together, they create a large-scale production that engages in a dialogue with memory and the present.
The stage is conceived as a space where choreography, music, and the body create meaning, driven by a clear commitment to exploring the essence of things and questioning what enables us to transform ourselves.
Flamenco serves as both a language and a territory, a vehicle for exploring the memory that shapes us—an emotional, poetic, and visceral memory. Returning in order to move forward; looking back to move forward.

Jesús Carmona Company
The Compañía de Jesús Carmona is one of the most prominent companies on the current Spanish dance and contemporary flamenco scene. With a well-established track record both nationally and internationally, its work is characterized by a fusion of tradition and the avant-garde, choreographic exploration, and a strong artistic identity.
The company has taken its productions to some of the world's most prestigious stages, establishing its own artistic language based on excellence, emotion, and the constant pursuit of new artistic horizons.
Jesus Carmona
He was born in Barcelona in 1985 and began his flamenco training at age 7. After earning a degree in Spanish Dance and Flamenco from the Institute of Theater and Dance in 2003, he furthered his artistic training with the most prominent performers and choreographers of the time. He has been a member of companies such as El Güito, Nuevo Ballet Español, and Antonio Canales, among others. In 2006, he joined the cast of the Spanish National Ballet, where he rose to the rank of Principal Dancer and later returned as a guest artist.
His restlessness as a creator and performer drives him to leave his position within the BNE to create his own proposals, thus giving rise to the Jesús Carmona Dance Company, in addition to collaborating as a creator for projects of other artists and companies.
Among other awards, she has received the 2021 Benois de la Danse Prize, the 2020 National Dance Prize, the 2019 RTVE Ojo Crítico Prize, and two MAX Awards for *Baile de Bestias*—for Best Show and Best Performer in 2022.

For Mónica Runde, she created *I Don’t Want to Forget*, her first choreographic piece.
Among other honors, he was nominated for the 12th Valle-Inclán Theater Awards for *La cantante calva* in 2018. That same year, he was named Best Director at the 39th City of Palencia Theater Festival Awards for *Todas las noches de un día*. He also won the Best Production Award for the 2018–19 season from Montcada I Reixach for this same play and production.
