For this first season, we have programmed the films of the three great pioneers of abstract animation: the German-American Oskar Fischinger (1900-1967); the New Zealander-English Len Lye (1901-1980); and the Scottish-Canadian Norman McLaren (1914-1987). Although the works of these filmmakers have been shown in film libraries, museums and specialized galleries, they have never been presented together, showing the coherence of the evolution among them, their decisive importance for contemporary audiovisual creation, and the bridges they build with certain trends in the plastic arts of their time (abstraction, for example), very well represented in the Museum's Collection.

In addition, the Museum will take advantage of one of its black boxes to program a mini-cycle of films by Len Lye and Norman McLaren, about 45 minutes long, which will be screened in a loop in that space, continuously during the Museum's opening hours, until January 2016. In this way, those visitors who have not been able to attend the screening of these authors at the Theater on the scheduled days, will be able to attend the screening of a selection of titles in HD copies in this space at any time.

The series will be completed with a seminar in one of the Museum's classrooms.
