Mother tongue is a contemporary dance piece that highlights the individual difference of each being. We are pure changing nature.

Composed for two performers, Mother Tongue emphasizes, through movement, that the path of life leaves its mark. As a counterpoint to change, the roots, represented in the movement, are built from them with pieces of our historical, political, cultural and personal context.

The creator Eduardo Vallejo Pinto culminates with Mother Tongue his research on movement as a fingerprint. We all have a unique movement fingerprint that has been configured from our roots and the computation of our experiences. Vallejo, originally from Mieres (Asturias), leaves his homeland and begins his career as a dancer and later as a choreographer, with a constant geographical change, which affects the modification of his movement, of which he is aware and takes record to accompany and complement his research on movement as a fingerprint over the years.

In his constant search for his own artistic language, Eduardo has developed the research process Movimiento Dactilar, an approach that can be described as an anthropological and cognitive-behavioral analysis of movement. Eduardo Vallejo's work is characterized by its formal and poetic strength, which translates into an unmistakable style. His recurring themes include political and social criticism, gender roles, interpersonal relationships and their consequences.
