On the occasion of the 5th centenary of the birth of Saint Teresa of Jesus this year and the 3rd centenary of the Royal Spanish Academy, José Luis Gómez, director of the Abadía Theater and academic of the language, created the project "Comics of the language" to celebrate 850 years of the Spanish language, giving a living voice to ten modular texts that have marked the history of our literature.

Escrito por Teresa de Ávila is one of these readings in life of "Cómicos de la lengua", where the actress Julia Gutiérrez Caba, accompanied by José Luis Gómez, recreates the phonetics and historical musicality of the mystical work of Teresa de Ávila. The reading intersperses prose and verse from works such as Las moradas del castillo interior, the Book of Life or her poetry.

In the words of the Royal Spanish Academy, "Written by Teresa of Avila" shows us "the poetic immensity that reaches the orality of the language to be embodied in writings of continuous, genuine and transcendent search for expression".

JULIA GUTIERREZ CABA

Born into a family with an enormous artistic tradition, her impeccable professional career, in which she has developed a solid background in film and television, has always been linked to the world of theater. Without ever leaving the stage, she enjoys both a consolidated dramatic training, as well as a wide register, which have made possible a successful and steady trajectory. With more than five decades on stage, he is National Theater Award (1970), Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts (1994), National Theater Award Pepe Isbert, Friends of the Theaters of Spain -AMITE- (2001), Gold Medal for Merit at Work (2006), Silver Fotograma for a lifetime (2007), Medal of Honor of the Circle of Cinematographic Writers (2011) and Max Award of Honor 2012.
