Aitor Arrieta, Lead Principal of the English National Ballet, Juanjo Carazo, dancer of the National Dance Company, and Daniel Vicandi, former professional dancer and current promoter with Nexus Company, return to Pamplona to present the IV edition of the Christmas Dance Gala Nexus Company.
After the overwhelming success of the three previous galas, leading figures from the international scene will once again come together to offer a show that combines technique, emotion and stylistic variety.
This edition will feature Eukene Sagues, dancer from Pamplona and soloist of the Royal Danish Ballet, who returns with Meirambek Nazargozhayev, performing an excerpt from the neoclassical ballet Blood Wedding -choreography by Eukene-, evoking the meeting in the forest between the Moon and the Bride. They will also bring La Sylphide, an essential romantic classic.
Nexus Company reaffirms its commitment to bring Spanish talent with international projection. This edition joins forces with Sergio Masero and Emily Carrico, former principal dancers of the Atlanta Ballet (USA), who will bring the most classical dimension with Teneo Integrum (a creation of Masero) and Satanella by Marius Petipa, a piece that stands out for its technical virtuosity and elegance.
Álvaro Madrigal and Shani Peretz, guest soloists of the Compañía Nacional de Danza, will be in charge of bringing the most contemporary vision to the Gala.
The unmistakable stamp of Spanish dance, always present in the program, will come from Matías López and Déborah Martínez, soloists of the Ballet Nacional de España.
As a special guest we will have Daniel Ramos, a leading figure of dance in Europe, choreographer of great national projection and awarded on numerous occasions, who will perform two of his most representative creations.

La Sylphide
Step two
Duration: 7.30 minutes.
Choreography: August Bournonville
Music by: Herman Severin Løvenskiold
Dancers: Eukene Sagues and Meirambek Nazargozhayev
James enters the forest and meets the ethereal Sylphide. They briefly converse about the beauty and mystery of the forest. The two-step captures the moment when James, caught between the real world and the ethereal realm, finds himself facing the Sylphide, a creature as light as a sigh who lives only on the border of sleep.
The Sylph floats around James almost without touching the ground. He tries to catch her, but she slips away with the softness of a breeze that wants to own no one. Her lines are long and vaporous, while his mark an earthy contrast, firm and human. They dance together, but never quite in the same place, as if the air between them were just another character.

Duration: 5.30 minutes.
Choreography: Mauro Bigonzetti.
Music: Assurd (Lorella Monti - Cristina Vetrone).
Dancers: Álvaro Madrigal and Shani Peretz.
Cantata (2001), by Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti for the company Aterballetto, is a vibrant work inspired by traditional Neapolitan songs. With live music and movements that blend contemporary dance and folklore, it celebrates the energy and passion of southern Italian folk culture. The piece is, in essence, a tribute to Mediterranean vitality and the profound union between music and body.

Satanella

In this adaptation, the duet depicts the encounter in the forest between the Moon and the Bride, who has just fled from her wedding. The Moon awakens in her repressed emotions and desires."
Dualia
Step two

Choreography: Ángel Rojas and Carlos Rodríguez.
Music: José Nieto.
Dancers: Deborah Martínez and Matías López.
Fragment of the paso a cuatro in the work Dualia. The work is inspired by Sorolla's painting, exploring the sensuality and complicity of the couple's dance, capturing emotions through movement and castanets.

Step two
Duration: 4.15 minutes.
Choreography: Sergio Masero Olarte.
Music: Tchaikovsky Valse Sentimentale Op.51, No.6, Franz Schubert Serenade.
Dancers: Sergio Masero and Emily Carrico.
"Teneo Integrum", by Sergio Masero for Atlanta Ballet, is a piece that pays tribute to classical ballet from a modern sensibility. With music by Schubert and Tchaikovsky, the work creates a lyrical atmosphere where the dancers move with elegance, precision and calm. The paso a dos functions as an intimate dialogue: the couple alternates supports, soft elevations and long lines that show mutual trust. The variations highlight the technique of each performer and the coda brings together energy and lightness. The ending, simple and contemplative, leaves a sense of unity, as if the piece sought to return to the essentials of ballet.
Carmen
Step two
Duration: 7.15 minutes.
Choreography: Johan Inger.
Music: Georges Bizet and Rodion Shchedrin.
Dancers: Álvaro Madrigal and Shani Peretz.
When Johan Inger was commissioned by the CND to stage a new version of Carmen, being Swedish and Carmen a work with a markedly Spanish character, he was faced with an enormous challenge, but also a great opportunity. His approach to this universal myth would have to bring something new. To this end, Inger decided to focus on the theme of violence, approaching it through a pure and uncontaminated gaze... that of a child. Based on this approach, Inger creates a character that allows us to witness everything that happens through his innocent eyes, while we contemplate his own transformation.
Johan Inger, author of this choreography originally created for CND, received for this work the Benois de la Danse in 2016 and the Venice TV Award in 2018.
