In the darkness, five performers bring into play the relationship between their voice, light and movement, transforming our perception to the point where notions of space and time are suspended and the limits between bodies are diluted.

Halfway between musical composition and choreographic writing, Bauzà and Jou propose a stage piece in which live singing and lights manipulated by the performers themselves are central to the construction of a dramaturgical story about the (re)beginning of the world.

Live music and voice are the expressive engines that drive the piece, combining vocal and electronic works of their own composition with fragments of the classical repertoire and passages of vocal improvisation. The spectator is immersed in an immersive and sensorial experience where the bodies and voices of the five singers constantly transform and converge into a single collective body, inviting us to imagine other ways of communicating, being and relating to each other in society.

AURORA BAUZÀ & PERE JOU

Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou are composers, creators and performers at the forefront of the performing arts. Their main research revolves around the human voice and its intricate connections with the body, movement, space, stage and light. His compositions go beyond the traditional boundaries of artistic genres, treating music as a multidimensional entity with physical, scenic, visual, dramaturgical, expressive and poetic qualities.

Bauzà and Jou have presented several stage works in recent years. These explore the human voice and the complexity of identity from diverse perspectives, formats and scenic devices, all unified by their commitment to creating dramaturgical narratives through the human voice. Their unique artistic approach involves a physical and movement practice that decomposes the resonant movement of sound (singing) from visual movement, creating a distinctive interaction. Choreography, viewed through an acoustic lens, merges seamlessly with musical composition, forming the essence and dramaturgical structure of her interdisciplinary work.

Born in Mallorca and Barcelona, respectively, Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou bring an obsessive curiosity to understanding the contemporary human being. Their works evidence their commitment to exploring the boundaries between sound, bodies and movement, and invite the public to question the limits of perception and identity. Recently, his piece "A BEGINNING #16161D" has been selected for the Twenty24 edition of AEROWAVES.
