Lorca's play of the same name is brought to the contemporary stage by Zuk Performing Arts through physical theater, dance and audiovisuals. The themes of the original tragedy: what people will say, frustrated motherhood, the passage of time, old age... appear in this staging in a way that verges on the cinematic.

The Navarrese company is committed to storytelling dance and proposes a Yerma that combines choreography, audiovisual creation, body movement and the poem reformulated in songs and sound environments. An immersive experience in the environments in which the story takes place to relive the feelings and emotions of the protagonists.

Yerma by Zuk Performing Arts is a production that emerged from the creative residencies of DNA 2022 - Festival de Danza de Navarra of the Government of Navarra and its representation in Museo en Danza is a consequence of the collaboration of the Museo Universidad de Navarra with this edition.

ZUK PERFORMING ARTS
Zuk was born in 2012 in Madrid, under the direction of the Navarre-born Itsaso A. Cano. The company stands out for its current proposals where it fuses dance and live arts with music, audiovisual creation and direct contact with the audience, all this together with its own choreographic language born from the encounter of urban dance with contemporary dance.

The choreographer's works have been shown in Spain at the La Noche en Blanco festival, the Reina Sofía Museum, the National Library, Teatros del Canal, La Cuarta Pared, Teatro Madrid, Sala Mirador, CC Paco Rabal, Teatro La Latina and Matadero, among others. The company has also participated in festivals around the world.

Zuk has several awards such as the First Prize Certamen Danza en Valores de Madrid for the work Y Park (2017); two nominations for the Max Awards 2015 for Best Choreography and Best Private Production for the show Halka; winners of the Certamen Jóvenes Creadores Madrid 2014 with Box; Audience Award in the Certamen 'De Una Sola Pieza' Universidad Carlos III 2013; and winners of the Certamen de Jóvenes Creadores de Madrid 2013 with Zuk.
