PROGRAM

II (5 min)
Step by two
Choreography: Aleix Mañé
Music: Juan Antonio Simarro
Dancers: Aída Badía, Aleix Mañé
The dependence between two individuals, different states, impulses that guide and justify the physical language that develops naturally in the work in each musical note.

Love Fear Loss
Choreography: Ricardo Amarante
Music: Introduction 'La Vie en Rose', Edith Piaf; 'Hymne à l'Amour', Edith Piaf; 'Ne me Quitte pas', Jacques Brel; 'Mon Dieu', Charles Dumont.
Musical Arrangements: Nataliya Chepurenko
Dancers: Cristina Casa, Ion Agirretxe
A ballet inspired by the life and music of Edith Piaf, which was a true reflection of her life. Each two-step takes us to an experience of a couple's relationship: love, fear and loss. Her hymn to love conveys what it can feel like at the beginning of a love relationship. After her marriage, relationship struggles took center stage in most of her songs. With the tragic loss of her husband, Mon Dieu was one of the songs that best reflected the feeling of loss.

Diana and Actaeon (9 min)
Step by two
Choreography: Marius Petipa
Music: Cesare Pugni
Dancers: Giada Rossi, Cristo Vivancos
Actaeon is hunting in the forest with his companions and his hunting dogs when he discovers the goddess Diana bathing in the river with her nymphs. Before he can do or say anything, Diana turns him into a deer so that he cannot tell what he has seen. As he leaves, his hunting dogs kill him without realizing that he is in fact their master.

Faruq (15 min)
Step by two
Choreography: Tania Martín, Carlos Romero
Dancers: Tania Martín, Carlos Romero
Faruq is said of the one who knows how to distinguish good from evil. The women of the gypsy prisoners, braceros and blacksmiths had to bear the weight of the family and worked to make a living. Because of their ethnic and gender condition they could not work for a salary and many sold flowers or bouquets of aromatic plants. Associated with mystery due to the ignorance and marginalization of their ethnicity, they were linked to esoteric wisdom and made a living as pythonesses, chiromancers, healers or midwives.

REST

Romeo and Juliet
Two-step
Choreography: Leonid Lavrosky
Music: Sergey Prokofiev
Dancers: Cristina Casa, Cristo Vivancos
The choreography captures the emotions of a young couple in love despite the barriers, the hapless Shakespearean lovers succumb to passion and tragedy. Considered one of the best ballets of the 20th century and the first based on a Shakespearean play, this version of Romeo and Juliet 's pas de deux is an excerpt from the complete play showing the balcony scene between the lovers.

Carmen (5 min)
Step by two
Choreography: Alberto Alonso
Music: Georges Bizet
Dancers: Giada Rossi, Sergio Bernal
The Cuban choreographer Alberto Alonso created for the Russian ballerina Maya Plisetskaya, a ballet with great quality of movement and with the music that her husband, Rodion Schedrin, orchestrated on a suite from Bizet's opera. Thus was born the Carmen suite that had its premiere at the Bolshoi Theater on April 20, 1967.

Alonso's scenario centers on Carmen, Don José and the bullfighter Escamillo. Carmen is a passionate and free-spirited woman in contrast to the temperamental and fickle character of Don José. Fate, a dancer and representation of Carmen's alter ego, tells Carmen's fortune with a deck of cards. A fight with tobacco dealers leads to Carmen's arrest by Captain Zúñiga. In jail, she seduces Don José and convinces him to free her.

NauJ (10 min)
Paso a dos
Choreography: Aleix Mañé
Dancers: Aída Badía and Aleix Mañé
Broken space, traces of snow in the air, accepting the cracks, loving them, to love each other and lie down inside them. Ephemeral marks of your movements. Something beautiful. By you, through you. The gesture of your arms surrendering, of your exhausted breaths. Crackling rocks. Perhaps none of this whole journey, this piece, this moment, is so poetic, so mysterious, but let us live in the beautiful illusions, in the beautiful wounds, in the precious cracks.

Spring Waters (2 min)
Two-step
Choreography: Messerer
Dancers: Cristina Casa, Ion Agirretxe
The piece speaks of the enthusiasm generated by the arrival of spring. "Although the snow still whitens the fields, spring is already here in the murmur of the waters that run and awaken the sleeping shores, that run and dance and sing. They sing aloud and softly: Spring is coming! Spring is coming! We are the young heralds of spring, she bade us anticipate her coming. Spring is coming! Spring is coming! And the bright, rosy dance of the May days is joyfully taking root beside her!". That same enthusiasm and splendor referred to in the poem is present in this piece.

The three-cornered hat
Solo
Choreography: Antonio Ruiz Soler
Music: Manuel de Falla
Dancer: Sergio Bernal
This piece of the Spanish dance repertoire has become a universal icon that is performed on stages all over the world. The work allows the dancer to go from the precious detail to the bravura, showing all his versatility and expressive capacity.
