Classical, neoclassical, contemporary and Spanish dance make up the program of this Gala, which features international dancers from the most outstanding companies on the current scene. 

Aitor Arrieta, Lead Principal Dancer of the English National Ballet, Juanjo Carazo, dancer of the Compañía Nacional de Danza, and Daniel Vicandi, former professional dancer, present this new edition of the Nexus Company Christmas Dance Gala, which brings together some of the most outstanding dancers of the international scene.

The program includes an important presence of classical and neoclassical ballet by Carlos González Olivo, current dancer of the American Ballet Theatre, who on this occasion will be partnered by Elissabetta Formento, soloist dancer of the National Dance Company, performing the Nutcracker and Flames of Paris. Eukene Sagues Abad from Navarre, currently a dancer in The Royal Danish Ballet, will perform with her partner Meirambek Nazargozhayev the famous ballet El corsario and the choreography Nola heldu naiz ni honaino, created by Sagues herself.

Along with them, including contemporary dance in the Gala, we will have the international dancers Daniel Róces and Madoka Ishikawa from the Leipziger Ballet of Germany, who will dance Interval by Goyo Montero and Benedictus by Mario Schröder.

Spanish dance will also be present in this new edition, we will have the pleasure of seeing Inmaculada Salomón and Eduardo Martínez, both first dancers of the Spanish National Ballet.

Elisabetta Formento (National Dance Company)

She began her studies at the Accademia di Danza e Spettacolo in Ivrea and at the Oxana Kichenko Ballet in Turin. In 2011 she obtained a scholarship to continue her studies at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia, where she graduated with the Diploma of Merit in 2015. She danced with the Estonian National Ballet (2015-2017), with the Dutch National Ballet (2017-2020) and with the Polish National Ballet as a soloist (2020-2022). In 2022 she joined the National Dance Company as a soloist, under the artistic direction of Joaquín de Luz.

Carlos González Olivo (American Ballet Theatre)

Born in Madrid, he began studying classical dance in 2005 at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Fortea. In 2012 he continued his training at El Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma in Madrid. He joined American Ballet Theatre Studio Company in September 2015, became an apprentice in the main company in December 2016 and has been part of the corps de ballet since June 2017.

Madoka Ishikawa (Leipziger Ballett)

Madoka Ishikawa (Yamaguchi, Japan) joined Kazuko Sugihara Ballet Art in 2004 and in 2009 she went to Vienna to join the prestigious Vienna Staats Opera Ballet Academy where she perfected her technique. In 2014 she joined the Leipziger Ballet under the direction of Mario Schröder, where she has collaborated with choreographers such as Jeroen Verbruggen, Uwe Scholz, Bryan Arias, Edward Clug or Maguy Marin.

Eduardo Martínez (National Ballet of Spain)

Born in Madrid, he began his dance studies at the age of four with Andrés Montemar. He studied at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Mariemma and has a degree in Dance Pedagogy and a Master in Performing Arts from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. He joined the National Ballet of Spain in 2002, after finishing his dance studies, and in 2005 he was promoted to the category of soloist of the BNE and in 2010 to Principal Dancer under the direction of José Antonio and continues in the National Ballet of Spain.

Meirambek Nazargozhayev (The Royal Danish Ballet)

She began her dance studies at the Choreographic School in Almaty, her hometown, where she graduated in 2014 from the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. She belongs to the corps de ballet of The Royal Danish Ballet since 2017 but previously danced at the Russian State Ballet in Moscow and Theater Kiel. He has worked with choreographers such as Ulan Merseidov, Wayne McGregor, John Neumeier, Christopher Wheeldon, Julio Bocca, Nikolaj Hubbe, Liam Scarlett, Loipa Araujo, Dinna Bjorn, Vadim Pisarev, Eduard Malbekov, Aset Murzakulov or Yevgeny Neff.

Daniel Roces Gomez (Leipziger Ballett)

She began her professional training in Spanish dance at the Karel Dance Center. In 2008, she studied classical dance at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma. In 2011, she ventured to the School of American Ballet, where she perfected her technique and spent a year at the Atlantic City Ballet. In 2014, he joined the cast of the Nuremberg Ballet, directed by Goyo Montero. Since 2020, Daniel has been a member of the Leipzig Ballet under the direction of Mario Schröder.

Eukene Sagues Abad (The Royal Danish Ballet)

She began her dance studies at the Escuela de Danza de Navarra, with a scholarship from the Government of Navarra she trained at VM Dance Studio in Toulouse. After passing through the Ballet du Capitole de Toulouse she joined in 2017 at The Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen where she is currently a soloist and where she has received choreographic training. She has worked with various choreographers such as Bobbi Jane Smith, Wayne Mcgregor, Marcos Morau, Jiri Kylian, David Dawson, Jacopo Godani, Magui Marin, Mauro Bigonzetti, Christopher Wheeldon, Liam Scarlett.

Inmaculada Salomón (National Ballet of Spain)

Graduated in Spanish Dance at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma in Madrid. She is part of Miguel Ángel Berna's company at the Teatro de la Zarzuela before joining the Ballet Nacional de España (BNE) in 2006 with José Antonio, with Antonio Najarro she became a soloist in 2012 and Prima Ballerina in 2016, until today with Rubén Olmo. It is remarkable her interpretation of Electra in the homonymous work of Antonio Ruz and Olga Pericet for the BNE.

A percussive beginning in a walk through the traditional Galician dance, stylized to be taken to the stage, where the clarinets mark those reminiscences of lembranzas, memories in Spanish, that are not forgotten.


Corsair

"The Corsair" is a famous ballet based on a poem by Lord Byron. The plot revolves around a group of pirates led by the charismatic Conrad, who falls in love with the beautiful Medora. Ali is a loyal friend of Conrad. Although Medora is attracted to Conrad, she also shows sincere affection for Ali. The relationship between Medora and Ali is characterized by loyalty and friendship, even when circumstances put them in difficult and dangerous situations. The plot of the ballet explores the challenges these characters face in their struggle for love and freedom.

"RuegO" is the fusion of a Spanish dancer and a contemporary dance choreographer in which elements of the two disciplines are intermingled, such as the game of the shoe and unstructured movements, creating a synergy of unique identity.

Nutcracker

The work was premiered on December 17, 1892. Based on the book of stories by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann, entitled "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King", it is today one of the best known ballets in the world. The little girl Clara, her doll and her dream becomes one of the best Christmas stories of all times.

In every being there is a beginning and an end and in between we experience the suffering, love and joy of life. Yin and Yan / Black and White / Darkness and Light / Stop and Movement / Noise and Silence / Birth, Life and Death in Balance. One cannot exist without the other. Past and future, a constant circle of life.


Flames of Paris

Flames of Paris is a classical ballet, inspired by the French Revolution, about the rebellion of the Marseillaise in the Tuileries and their victorious march through Paris.
Marseille 1789, Jérôme is taken prisoner by the guards of the Marquis Costa de Beauregard for trying to protect his sister Jeanne. Fortunately, Adeline, the marquis' daughter, frees young Jérôme and immediately leaves for Paris with her father.
There, she will meet again Jérôme, who also goes to Paris with his sister Jeanne in order to support the revolutionary struggle that is trying to take the capital. While fighting for freedom, the two will find love along the way.
