EL QUITADOR DE MIEDOS

A search for the fears linked to two essential acts of life: birth and death, and how we relate to our ancestors.

Inspired by two poems by Stella Díaz Varín (Chile) and Radio Ensueño (Spain), the spectator witnesses a dialogue between the earthly world, where fear dwells, and the divine, mediated by a spiritual guide who prepares the course of everyday life to make us connect with the celestial plane, where the ancestors reside. A manifesto to remember that we are not alone but in constant dialogue with what we do not see.

The work arises from everyday life in Senegal as a scenario of creation and is inspired by elements of Senegalese heritage dance, revisited from a contemporary perspective.

A work created in Senegal as part of the multidisciplinary project "Ella poema" promoted and directed by Aïda Colmenero Dïaz.
