Fosca is a show designed specifically for children that explores darkness—not as something to be afraid of, but as an opportunity to spark the imagination and fantasy.

Through a visual and auditory journey that takes us from darkness to light, Fosca seeks to awaken in young children the magic hidden behind the darkness, helping them overcome their fears and inviting them to discover a world full of creative possibilities. Darkness is presented as a mysterious yet safe place, where shadows turn into adventures and invisible sounds come to life.

In *Fosca*, three performers, equipped with portable lights, execute movements that transform into light as they sing, creating a unique fusion of voice, light, and movement.

This project draws inspiration from the artistic research conducted in *A beginning #16161D*, an earlier work by Aurora Bauzà & Pere Jou that explored the relationship between the body, the voice, and light in a context of darkness.

Aurora Bauzà & Pere Jou

Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou are composers, creators and performers at the forefront of the performing arts. Their main research revolves around the human voice and its intricate connections with the body, movement, space, stage and light. His compositions go beyond the traditional boundaries of artistic genres, treating music as a multidimensional entity with physical, scenic, visual, dramaturgical, expressive and poetic qualities.

In recent years, Bauzà and Jou have presented various stage works that explore the human voice and the complexity of identity from diverse perspectives, formats, and theatrical devices, all united by their commitment to creating dramatic narratives through the human voice.

Born in Mallorca and Barcelona, respectively, Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou bring an obsessive curiosity to their quest to understand contemporary human beings. Their works demonstrate their commitment to exploring the boundaries between sound, bodies, and movement, and invite the audience to question the limits of perception and identity.
