Masterclass with photographer Javier Vallhonrat
Students, professors from the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra and photography enthusiasts from the city of San Sebastian were able to attend a masterclass with photographer Javier Vallhonrat on March 1 at TECNUN's Miramón headquarters.
Under the title"Tracking Vigier", the artist recalled the journey to the Pyrenees that the primitive photographer undertook as early as 1853 and his interest in photographing the fragment as opposed to the totality, converting scientific rigor together with abstract expression, and the peculiar coexistence of nature with one's own corporeality."Each artist," he said, " tries to make sense of his experience. With his work, he chooses what to say or not to say to the world."
Engineer and romantic at the same time, Vallhonrat showed the two facets that coexist in his work, a speech very well received by the students of the School.
His latest work "42ºN" was presented in the form of a dialogue with Professor Carlos Chocarro, Academic and Public Programs Director of Museo Universidad de Navarra.
The event was attended by several photography enthusiasts from the city of San Sebastian, as well as the director of TECNUN, Iñigo Puente, the deputy director of students, Paloma Grau, and the secretary, Nicolás Serrano. In addition, several students were encouraged to attend, including the student delegate and subdelegate.
