L'Esperit Català (Tàpies, 1971) travels from Museo Universidad de Navarra to the Bellas Artes in Bilbao.
This is how the works from the Museum's collection were moved.
On April 9, a new work was inaugurated as part of the "The Guest Work" program organized by the Bilbao museum. It is the piece from our collection "L'esperit català" (The Catalan Spirit ), made by the artist Antoni Tàpies in 1971, belonging to the donation of María Josefa Huarte Beaumont.
The "The Guest Work" Program exhibits a work of art from another museum to establish a dialogue with the collection of the Museo Bellas Artes. This initiative has been carried out since 2010 and has involved pieces such as Rapture of Deidamia, 1636-38 by Rubens, belonging to the Prado Museum; Rough Sea with Wreckage, 1840-5 by Turner, and which is part of the Tate Britain collection or Still Life with Flowers, 1650-1660, by Juan de Arellano, which belongs to the Santander Collection.
The piece will be on display until June 30.
