The Museo Universidad de Navarra held last Friday the closing ceremony of the V promotion of the Master in Curatorial Studies. The 16 students were accompanied by Mercedes Jover, director of the Museum of Navarra, who gave the master lecture; Jaime García del Barrio, director of Museo Universidad de Navarra; Nieves Acedo, director of the master; and Soledad Paszkiewicz, delegate of the course, as well as family, friends and professionals of the Museum. The event took place in the Aula Magna of the Central Building of the University of Navarra.

In her speech, Jover defended that the responsibility of the graduates, from their profession as curators, is "togenerate knowledge and critical thinking in and for the information society. Truthful information and true thinking to which people can anchor themselves in order to develop their own critical thinking". In this sense, she gave them some advice: "Always be rigorous and sincere, work in search of the truth, activate reflection in new audiences, with professional freedom and freedom of conscience".

García del Barrio also encouraged the students to "develop a work with a vocation of commitment, with the aim of seeking spirituality and truth" and stressed that "one way to reach reality is through beauty".

Acedo, director of the postgraduate program, pointed out that this is an all-women promotion and invited them to remember the admission interviews in which she asked them why they wanted to do the master's degree: "I invite you to remember that exercise we did in which we asked ourselves: what brought you here? Now your mission is to bring other people closer to that experience of art. To foster in others that relationship with art. I invite you to revisit that mission in order to continue taking steps".

For her part, Paszkiewicz, delegate of the graduating class, valued "art as continuous and experiential learning" and praised the work of the Master's team, the teaching staff and all the professionals at the Museum. He also defended that "a work of art fulfills its mission when it shows us something we do not know. This also happens with people; bonds are strengthened precisely in that which is not known. And he pointed out an idea for his next steps: "The important thing is to renew oneself and be comfortable in uncertainty."

In the summer, the recent graduates will carry out their professional internships in centers such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), Fundación Coppel (Mexico City), Bombas Gens Centre d'Art (Valencia), the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (Madrid), the Balenciaga Museum (Getaria, Gipuzkoa), TEA: Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), the Centro Huarte de Arte Contemporáneo (Huarte, Navarra), the CA2M Museum (Madrid), CCCB: Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and Fundación Luis Seoane (La Coruña), among others.

In September, the last challenge will come, the presentation of his Master's Thesis, consisting of an exhibition proposal made in groups. From the projects, one will be selected to be exhibited in the Museum's Torre hall next season, with the support of the Palazuelo Foundation, which also collaborates in the curatorial journey.
