How to manage the performing arts?

José Manuel Garrido, director of the consultancy and cultural management company Artibus and programmer of Performing Arts for the Museo Universidad de Navarraparticipated on November 25 in the series of sessions "Humanities, today". In his speech, in which he reviewed his extensive professional career as a cultural advisor and producer of shows, he stressed the importance of specific training for those who want to dedicate themselves in the future to the management of the Performing Arts.
He also explained to the students the changes that have taken place in this field in recent years: from the way shows are managed to the launching of individual initiatives such as micro-theater performances, which have emerged strongly in large cities.
Garrido referred to the difficulties involved in the management of the Performing Arts, but also wanted to highlight the professional possibilities it offers today, as both theater and other shows are as relevant today as they were yesterday.
Lastly, in reference to his involvement with the Museo Universidad de Navarra as programmer of Performing Arts, he gave the students some information about the programming and the implementation of various activities that will serve as a bridge between the Museum and the University.
