The Museum organizes its first exhibition: "Nord d'Africa. Ortiz Echagüe".
On March 14, the first exhibition of Museo Universidad de Navarra was inaugurated. The exhibition, curated by Javier Ortiz-Echagüe, brings together 80 photographs from the collection that tell the story of José Ortiz Echagüe's travels to Morocco between 1909 and 1915.
The exhibition, installed at the Museo Nacional D'Art de Catalunya, can be visited until July 21.
José Ortiz Echagüe (Guadalajara, 1886 - Madrid, 1980) is a very relevant figure in the history of photography in Spain and has been internationally recognized as one of the best photographers. As a businessman he founded two major companies: Construcciones Aeronáuticas S.A. (C.A.S.A.); and later, the first Spanish automobile production line, SEAT.

The Ortiz Echagüe bequest was donated to the University in 1990. Over the years, the University's Photographic Fund has been built up around this collection. Today, it is one of the most important of the most important photography exhibitions in Spainand since the birth of the Museo Universidad de Navarra is part of its collection.
