The Museo Universidad de Navarra, awarded as one of the ten best museums in Europe
It was the only Spanish center to compete in the 2018 edition of the EMYA Awards, granted by the European Museum Forum and the Council of Europe.

The Museo Universidad de Navarra has been honored at the EMYA Awards 2018, held last weekend in Warsaw (Poland) and awarded by the European Museum Forum and the Council of Europe.
The jury of these awards emphasizes that the Museum "shows visitors of all ages and backgrounds that art can open minds and reveal new and creative ways of thinking and solving problems". It also stresses that "this inclusive and multidisciplinary approach has the potential to redefine the role of university museums around the world".
The high quality of the photography and contemporary art collections, as well as the connection between the arts and its teaching vocation, and the building, designed by Rafael Moneo, have also been valued in this distinction.
Alongside the Museo Universidad de Navarra have been awarded for their respective contributions six other European art centers such as Lascaux IV- International Centre for Cave Art (France), Helsinki City Museum (Finland) and Museo Dell' Opera Del Duomo (Italy), among others. Likewise, the Desing Museum in London has received the 2018 Museum of the Year Award.
The Museo Universidad de Navarra has been the only Spanish center that has competed in this edition of these awards, which were founded in 1977 by journalist Kenneth Hudson to support, promote and recognize excellence and innovation in the field of museums and are considered the most prestigious in Europe. In previous editions, museums such as the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao have been recognized.
