On January 22nd the Museo Universidad de Navarra is five years old and to celebrate it has organized a week of open doors for the whole city. From Tuesday 21 to Sunday 26, all visitors will be able to visit the Collection and the exhibitions free of charge and will receive a small gift. In addition, free guided tours have been scheduled, which will take place at 12 noon and 6 p.m., from Tuesday 21 to Saturday 25; and at 12 noon, on Sunday 26.

Currently, together with the collection of María Josefa Huarte and the José Ortiz Echagüe Space, which has just been renovated, the following can be visited Parallel Memoryby the Japanese sculptor and video artist Hiraki Sawa; and the exhibition of 19th century photography, Jane Clifford. Jane Clifford. The Treasure of the Dolphin. In his exhibition, Sawa establishes parallels with the binomial memory and oblivion, exploring the memories rescued from the collective amnesia prevailing in our time. 

For its part, the exhibition that houses the Torre room brings together 58 photographs of the works that make up The Treasure of the Dolphin, a collection of rock crystal objects and precious stones preserved in the Prado Museum. The authorship of this documentary set is attributed to the British photographer Jane Clifford and is probably the first project of its kind carried out by a woman in Spain.

AWARDED AT THE EMYA

Since it opened its doors five years ago, inaugurated by King Felipe and Queen Letizia, the Museum has inaugurated 32 exhibitions, in addition to co-productions and loans to various museums and institutions, and 173 performing arts and music shows have been staged in its theater and exhibition halls.

During this period, 29 artists have participated in the artistic creation program Tender Puentes and seven choreographers have participated in the creative residencies in the performing arts. In total, around 500,000 people have visited its exhibitions and participated in its activities; and more than 15,000 schoolchildren have participated in its educational activities. Likewise, around 1,100 people have attended the proposals of Campus Creativo, an area created in the 2017-18 academic year and promoted by the University of Navarra Symphony Orchestra. Since last academic year, the Museum has been teaching the first official Master's Degree in Curatorial Studies in Spain.

In 2018, the center was honored at the EMYA Awards as one of the ten best European start-up museums, a recognition awarded by the European Museum Forum and the Council of Europe.
