Online auditions are now open to join the Orquesta Sinfónica Universidad de Navarra.
Candidates can register until July 4 and will be able to send the video with their interpretation until July 14.
The Orquesta Sinfónica Universidad de Navarra calls for new auditions to add new musicians to the orchestra. Due to the current circumstances, the selection process will be carried out online. Candidates can register through a form on the web site of the Museo Universidad de Navarra until July 4; and send their video to the e-mail alumnosmuseo@unav.es until July 14.
The auditions are open to all students of the University of Navarra and other universities and institutions such as conservatories and music schools, who are currently studying or have completed their studies, in all instrumental specialties. The conditions are available on the Museum's website.
As of this academic year, the musicians of the Orchestra, conducted by Borja Quintas, can enroll in the Artistic Talent program, promoted by the Museum's Campus Creativo area. The initiative aims at the integral formation of the students, helping them to combine their studies with their artistic talents. Thanks to this program, which is also open to members of the University of Navarra Choir and the Theater Training Plan, overlapping between rehearsals or performances and practices, work, classes or exams is avoided.
CONCERT AND SPECIAL GAUDEAMUS
During the confinement, the University of Navarra Symphony Orchestra and Choir recorded a special version of Gaudeamus Igitur, written by the famous Russian composer Kuzma Bodrov. It was a gift for their fellow seniors who are graduating this year.
In this course, the orchestra tackled a program combining opera and ballet music by the composers Khachaturian and Smetana, after the success obtained in its previous concert, a Gala Lírica at the Museo Universidad de Navarra and the Victoria Eugenia Theater in San Sebastián, together with the acclaimed soloists María José Montiel, Enrique Ferrer and the cellist Ángel Luis Quintana.
In the spring, the group had also planned to share the stage with pianist Rosa Torres Pardo, but the meeting had to be postponed due to the limitations imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
