Bleda and Rosa present 'Geografía del tiempo', a co-production with Bombas Gens and the CGAC
The exhibition, which brings together six photographic projects, can be visited from March 21 to September 30.
The Museo Universidad de Navarra presented this Wednesday the exhibition Geography of Timeby photographers María Bleda and José María Rosa. In the event, held in one of the rooms that houses the exhibition, have intervened the artists; Nuria Enguita, curator of the exhibition; and Rafael Levenfeld, artistic director of the Museum.
Geography of Timewhich can be visited from March 21 to September 30, is a co-production with the Bombas Gens art center and the Galician Center of Contemporary Art (CGAC). The exhibition, located on the first floor, presents a journey through the photographic work developed by the artists, winners of the National Photography Award in 2008, during the last 25 years.
Specifically, it is divided into six series: Battlefields (1994-2017), Prontuario (2012-2017), Soccer Fields (1992-1995), Origin. A stroll through the theories of human evolution (in progress since 2003), Memoriales ( 2005-2010) and The Alhambraa project within the framework of the Museum's Tender Puentes the Museum's program.
Bleda explained that "Geography of time alludes to two different concepts. On the one hand, to the landscapes we show and, on the other hand, to the concept of History itself, to the rupture or continuity it has".
Rosa also valued that "it has been a work of walking forward and the fact of seeing in an exhibition what we have been doing all this time is very gratifying".
In his speech, Anguita stressed that "a work that arises between three institutions is a marvel and the magnificent way in which the exhibition has been shown is the result of this collaboration".
AN ARTIST'S BOOKFor his part, Levenfeld, who also highlighted the important work between the three centers and the artists, emphasized that for the Museum it is "very important to have the work of Bleda and Rosa, a project that has always interested us and our relationship began with the artists' participation in the project. Tender Puentes".
During the meeting they also highlighted the importance of the catalog (27x18.5 cm, 202 pages), a work of which three different versions have been published, each with the same graphic material but with a text by a different author: Nacho París, Paola Cortés-Rocca and Liz Wells.
It is priced at 30 euros. "It is not so much a catalog as an artist's book on Battlefields. However, we have looked at how to combine the idea of collecting a single project with the fact that there is another series of works on display."
