The fascinating figure of Ramón María del Valle-Inclán, one of the key authors of 20th century literature, is brought to the stage at the Museo Universidad de Navarrathrough the eyes of the writer Ramón Gómez de la Serna. Actor Pedro Casablanc will play both characters in the unique musical monologue "Ramón María del Valle-Inclán". Ramón María del Valle-Inclán. Through Ramón Gómez de la Sernadirected by Xavier Albertí and with Mario Molina at the piano. Framed in the cycle Los Clásicos Hoywill be performed on November 29, at 7:30 p.m., and tickets cost 18 and 20 euros.

Wit, talent and humor are masterfully intertwined in this proposal that, in the words of its director, "arises to try to change some aspects of the idea we have of Valle. Gómez de la Serna's look is unique because he knew him, admired him and imitated him in his own way". Albertí sought "to make a show close to the literary cabaret to enhance the language of Gómez de la Serna and accompany it with some witnesses of the popular musical modernity of his time. The good cuplé is a good way to reach mass culture. In addition, the so-called cultured music (Beethoven, Granados) brings us closer to the concept of musical writing so dear to Valle".

In this sense, Casablanc, an actor with a long career in theater, television(Motivos personales, Hospital Central, Isabel, Mar de plástico, among many others) and film, especially values "the sense of humor and admiration with which Gómez de la Serna speaks of Valle and the times he lived through. Music is also a good conductor of the electric current that moves the copper wires of the theater".

The performer also shares what it has been like to get into the skin of these two historical characters to bring this double portrait to the public: "I value it in a jovial way because it is an immense joy to perform this show. Two characters on stage, acting almost at the same time, is an acting pirouette that one does not always have the opportunity to perform". For him, the main challenge has been "to respect the rhythm and cadence of the music and thus make the words become melody. Also the audacity of singing for the first time on stage and being able to remain neutral in the face of the audience's passionate reaction".

Thus, the proposal allows the viewer to observe the tools of analysis, dissection instruments and aesthetic canon of Valle Inclán and to travel a path closer to the intimacy and daily reality of the author. The result is a stylistic and vital sum of these two literary creators that allow us to understand a good part of the Spanish avant-garde of the 20th century.
