Master in Curatorial Studies graduates Valeria Montes (Alumni 20'), Alejandra Díaz Guerra (Alumni 20') and Pau Cassany (Alumni 19') have been selected to participate in the artist mentoring program Spotlights Barcú 2020, promoted by the Colombian art festival and platform Barcú and by the Master in Curatorial Studies of the Museo Universidad de Navarra. The selected curators will work with Colombian artists Andrea Infante, James Campo, Jean Lucumi, Marcela Calderón and Yasmín Muñoz.
The objective of this accompaniment is "to provide spaces for discussion and to circulate new learning processes. The approach of the proposal is based on the search for meaningful learning for the artist".
During their participation, the selected curators will hold regular virtual meetings for six months, during which workshops, presentations, conversations and exercises will be held on the production and materialization of creative processes in the artistic field, as well as the preparation of critical texts for each artist and the curatorship of the final exhibition. The purpose of this program is to "create a crossroads of contexts that will put the experiences and processes of artists and curators in dialogue.
The result of this joint experience of creation and curatorship will be shown in an exhibition as part of the eighth edition of Barcú, which will take place from October 19 to 24 in Bogota, subject to the Public Health measures adopted by the Colombian government in relation to Covid-19.
