Tercer cielo is the new project of flamenco singer Rocío Márquez and urban and electronic music producer Bronquio. Exceptional dialectic dance between flamenco and electronic music, a language of its own that transcends watertight compartments to continue widening the flamenco of the 21st century.

Tercer cielo oscillates between more experimental parameters and others that are more accessible both vocally and musically, a journey that goes from the known to the unknown, from tradition to creation. Rocío's singing explores harmonies, polyphonies and dissonances, cohabiting with whispers, spoken word, babbling and agonizing expressions. A voice deployed in a thousand voices that sounds sometimes clean and sometimes filtered and distorted by Bronquio.

All in all, Tercer cielo is a flamenco album. We find rhythmic, lyrical and melodic structures of bulerías, rumba, pregón, seguiriyas, tangos, garrotín, milonga, debla, toná, soleá or verdiales. These "palos" are approached from different styles of electronic music, as the album contains reminiscences of techno, UK garage, electro or break.

From these pillars Tercer cielo is built, a mental and creative space-time. Between past and future, emotion and thought, memory and desire, dream and vigil. A paradise on the threshold dreamed collectively on the poetic plane. We find lyrics by contemporary authors such as Carmen Camacho, Macky Chuca, Luis García Montero, Antonio Manuel or Rocío Márquez herself, who again signs many of the lyrics. Listening deeper, we will find poetic references to San Agustín, Federico García Lorca, Miguel de Unamuno or Antonio Mairena himself.

ROCÍO MÁRQUEZ

ROCÍO MÁRQUEZ
Hailed by the press as "the voice of the new generation of cante jondo", Rocío Márquez (Huelva, 1985) has spent more than a decade building a solid artistic career that today overflows the flamenco scene, where she is already a clear reference and consolidated figure. His restless personality and enormous curiosity are evident in his discography, which transversely shows us both a great love for the flamenco tradition and an imperious need to widen the limits of that same tradition, exploring and experimenting with melodies, instrumentation, arrangements and lyrics. Thus, from that freshly recorded live DVD "Aquí y ahora" (2009) to "Omnia Vincit Amor" (2020), we find a bouquet of albums with which he has been strengthening his artistic discourse and reaping the recognition of the fans. For "Visto en El Jueves" (2019) she obtains the Les Victoires du Jazz award for the best world music album, being the first Spanish artist to achieve it. This recognition is added to other important awards such as the Lámpara Minera at the Festival de La Unión, the Giraldillo a la Innovación de la Bienal de Sevilla, among many others.

In parallel, Rocío develops an intense career of live concerts, combining different formats and proposals with which she is constantly touring. Beyond the flamenco and classical circuits, Rocío is a regular at indie and pop/rock events such as Primavera Sound or Monkey Week and in the contemporary creation scene, performing at Matadero Madrid or the CCCB in Barcelona. She collaborates with musicians as diverse as Jorge Drexler, Kiko Veneno, Raül Refree, Niño de Elche, Christina Rosenvinge, Albert Plá, among others.

BRONCHIUM

BRONCHIUMThe creator from Jerez Santiago Gonzalo AKA Bronquio is a young musician of punk tradition and one of the sensations of the Spanish electronic scene. Bronquio has three epés distributed by Altafonte Spain, the last one (Vol. 3) with the collaboration of Nita (Fuel Fandango) and Cris Lizarraga (Belako).

After signing on as a collaborator on Radio 3's Hoy empieza todo (RNE), in 2021 he will work on the soundtrack of the new film by Sevillian Santi Amodeo, 'Las Gentiles'. As a producer, he has successfully produced Kiko Veneno's most recent LP, Sombrero roto, critically acclaimed. He has also produced singles for mainstream artists such as Natalia Lacunza and Anaju. In 2020 he was chosen for Artistas En Ruta (AIE) as well as for the AECID Catalogue of performing arts and music commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation through Excenario.
