The screening of the documentary will be followed by a discussion with its director, Mercedes Álvarez.
In her first feature film, Mercedes Álvarez returns to the village of her birth, Aldealseñor, to direct the painter Pello Azketa and the local inhabitants as protagonists.
Defined as a documentary feature film, it contains documentary elements that are woven with fictional elements to establish a common thread that, in a poetic way, unites and gives meaning to the images. The viewer witnesses a memory of the landscape and culture of the Soria region of Tierras Altas. Each shot contains within it many things beyond the obvious, evokes the emotions that arise from memory, brings to the surface the memories of those who are no longer here, of a way of life that fades away to make way for another. The neighbors of Aldealseñor and the painter Pello Azketa share something in common: things have begun to disappear in front of them. The narrator returns to her origin and witnesses this end while trying to recover a first image of the world, of childhood.
"The images have been loaded with so much intention, in fiction, in advertising, that they do not allow the viewer to imagine, to reach conclusions by himself. We have to trust the viewer's intelligence, it is a creative element and we have to respect it" Mercedes Álvarez
