MUN Theatre

Toni Jodar illustrates with his own body in this danced lecture the passage of time of dance and uses his experience and humor to turn it into a pedagogical, creative and entertaining performance.

The session combines spoken action with videos and questions from the audience to become an introductory performance to the understanding of dance from a historical, artistic and movement point of view.

The artist and dance teacher shows the evolution of the discipline from classical to contemporary dance and refers to the various genres and forms that the body uses to express itself in movement: from Isadora Duncan to the techniques of Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Merce Cunningham and the reactions of contact release to the European currents of dance theater from Mary Wigman to Pina Bausch, ending with jazz dance.

BIOGRAPHIES

TONI JODAR

Artist and dance teacher for more than 25 years, he has extended his studies in various seasons in the United States. He combines the physical preparation of actors, postural awareness work, jazz dance specialty and the realization of different movement workshops for students, professionals and artists from other fields.

During his artistic career he has performed more than 1000 shows. He has worked as a dancer, performer, assistant choreographer, in addition to collaborating with dance companies and being responsible for the movement in various shows. He has also collaborated with the educational service of the Auditori de Barcelona.

She is currently dedicated to dissemination with the Explica Danza project for which she has received numerous awards.
 

BEATRIU DANIEL

Artistic producer and cultural manager specialized in dance. With a degree in art history from the University of Barcelona, she acquired her knowledge of cultural management through experience and various training courses. She is also trained in various accompaniment techniques, such as coaching and NLP.

She is part of the generation that in the 70's developed and created contemporary dance in Catalonia, in her position as co-director of the magazine DANSA-79, which documented all the activity of the time.

She has worked with several companies, initiated the IT Dansa project of the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and coordinated the TotDansa project for the Oficina de Difusió Artística de la Diputació de Barcelona and the Ballarins a Palo Alto project for TV3. Director of the management of La Caldera (2005-2011), the center for the creation of dance and performing arts in Barcelona and member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Dance Professionals of Catalonia. She has worked as a producer, in addition to collaborating with artists, in film and TV.

He currently co-directs with Toni Jodar the Explica danza project.
